Subject: Great tire service in DC Area

Hello all,

I had to write and let everyone know about a great tire experience last night. First, let me say that a good friend of mine used to mount tires for NTW so I am aware of the differences between good service and bad.

Much like everyone else I thought I was getting a great deal on my MXX3's from Tire Rack, I paid $263 per tire plus $11 shipping for two tires. Now I live across the street from the Pentagon City Price Club, so for convenience I took the tires there. The guy that mounted them did a great job, be very careful not to scrape the wheel paint when removing the stick on wheel weights.

Last night I went back, on my way home for a balance and rotate. A gentlemen named Clark helped me out. It turns out he is the Mgr. of the tire service center, he doesn't always mount the tires, but if you call him in advance and let him know you're coming he'll be happy to do it. Not only did he do a great job balancing and remounting the tires, but he even cleaned off that nasty factory glue from the wheel weights. He used some stuff called "REBUFF, PRECLEANER", worked great. I was in and out within a half hour. Total cost $16. I tried to tip him and he wouldn't accept, he just asked for referrals which is why I'm writing.

Now the best part, it trns out Price Club can beat Tire Rack prices on the Michelins and if you get them from there and mount them there, the afformentioned service is free with the showing of the receipt.

Just thought you all would want to know.
