Subject: Weights for E36 Alignment procedure
In Digest # it was written:
<<In order to perform a wheel alignment on an E36 M3 correctly, The car has
to be weighed down in a certain way (i.e. a certain weight in the front
seat, back seat, trunk). Does anyone know the proper weights to use? I
saw a post on this about 5-6 months back but I can't seem to locate that
particular post anymore..
Thanks in advance for your answers!>>
45 kg (150lbs) in each front seat and in the center of the rear seat, plus 22
kg (45 lbs) in the center of the rear trunk, for a grand total of 157 kg (495
lbs), a full tank of gas, and spare installed.
If you try to align to the BMW specs without these weights you'll be way off.
Ride heights are also based off of these weights being installed.
