Subject: re: <E36 M3> <97> Dinan camber plates (not necessary)

Christopher Yeung asked about Dinan camber plates for a 97 M3.

Chris,

Unless you want 3-4 degrees negative camber, Dinan says that most folks with 96/97 M3's do not need camber plates. By switching the top-hats left to right & vice versa, you get 0.5 degrees neg camber. If you change out your springs/struts you usually get another 0.5 or 1 degree more neg camber (since most aftermarket spring/strut combinations lower your car 0.5-2 inches in the front). This simple trick is only possible on the 96/97 M3's because of the suspension changes from the 95.
