Larry,

I installed the x-brace several months ago on my 96 M3. The motivation was to enhance chassis integrity under the strains of Driver School.

However I was very agreeably surprised to immediately notice on the street an improvement in steering response: sharper turn-in and more lively feedback. Several other Digest members have reported similarly. I highly recommend this addition for any sporting E36 driver, especially considering the modest cost (about $199 from Will Turner).

Installation takes about 45 minutes as long as you have a later model E36 with the threaded mounting bushings installed. Early models are rather more difficult.

Neil
