Subject: <E36>Radio Reception Problem
A couple of digests back, someone mentioned that they no longer had AM
reception after having a factory CD changer installed in their E36.
The in-glass antenna is power amplified. If you pull the radio, you will
see a white wire in the radio harness. It probably has come loose or was
cut. I forget exactly where to find the other end (antenna end), but it
should not be too difficult to find back there...once you locate it, grab a
multimeter and do a quick continuity test to see if its shorted out. If you
have an aftermarket radio, make sure the POWER ANTENNA LEAD that comes FROM
the aftermarket radio connects to this white wire in the wiring harness.
