E36 M3 started being available for sale in the USA around 6/94
1995 M3:
6/94 - 12/95
3.0l engine 240hp 225 ft-lbs torque
OBD-I and chippable from Jim Conforti or many others
Has the potential for up to 270hp with bolt-on mods
1996-1997-1998 M3
3/96-6/96 - 9/96-6/97 - 9/97-6/98
3.2l engine 240hp 23? ft-lbs torque
OBD-II and chippable from Dinan by chopping out the chip and
putting in a socket and upgraded chip in it's place, expensive.
Has not as much potential for HP due to different intake system and
cylinder head.
Suspension slightly different from 1995 year
Different size tires
hope this helps
