here are the '97 3series changes:

• new front kidney in 7series look
• rocker panel (beneath doors) are black instead of gray
• trunk grip is painted in the car's color
• heated and painted mirrors
• new interior fabrics
• steering wheel from new 5series
• storage space in backrests of front seats
• reading spots and floor lights in the rear
• painted bumpers for all models
• ASC+T for all 6 bangers (except 325td/tds)
• prices are about DM 900 higher
• available from September '96 The E46 is planned to be introduced in the 4th quarter of '97 according to German car magazines. I also read about a new diesel with 1.9 Liter and 110 HP and for the beginning of '97 a 323ti Compact.
