LTW information:

  • limited production *True 125
  • aluminum doors *True
  • approx 200 lbs weight savings over normal base M3 *True
  • "specially selected" stock engines *Stated but no proof
  • special motorsports parts in the trunk: *True
    • oil pan
    • lower cross brace
    • front stress bar
    • special adjustable height wing
  • carbon fiber dash trim *True
  • front seats are 325i sport seats in special cloth fabric *True
  • checkered flag decal *True
  • increased rear axle ratio to 3.23 *True
  • dry weight 2940 lbs. *sounds about right
  • max load weight 4225 lbs *uhhhh
  • M3 LTW, aka M3 CSL *True known as either in official docs
  • sticker price $48,470 (or was it $47,500) *True
  • passenger side strut tower has an id sticker from BMW Individual with the serial number on it. *Don't know, I'll look
  • manufacturer plate says "BMW M GMBH"
  • build sheet from under rear seat says "SONDERSERIE M3 US CSL" *True
  • splitter on front air dam *True
  • suspension differences from stock '95 M3:
    • springs are slightly shorter and stiffer
    • shocks/struts/swaybars, are the same
    • alignment changed, exact specs unknown at this time
  • production occured 8/95 - 10/95 *Believe true
  • 125 total made *125 per Wensberg and Brekkus
  • no radio, but amp/speakers/wiring remain *True
  • 225 lbs lighter than standard base M3 (2950 vs 3175) ? I suspose

  • Forged wheels are 8 lbs lighter each over 10-spoke M3 wheels *?
  • Forged wheels were 7.5"x17" with 41mm offset in front
  • Forged wheels were 8.5"x17" with 41mm offset in rear
  • larger wheels, 8.5"x17", in rear *True (same as '97, and possible '95 option)
  • lighter/stronger forged aluminum 5-spoke Motorsport wheels
  • BMW claims 13.9 sec 1/4 mile vs 14.5 sec for standard M3
  • many parts used from the Euro M3 Coupe (aluminum doors/springs/...) *True
