First, let me say that I hate people like you ! Why do you post such a leading question. Now everyone on the digest is sitting at home wondering why the hell someone MUST remove the sunroof from a 97 M3............ How about a hint ? :-)

If you have the headliner out, the job is 9/10ths done. It is safer to remove the lid before dropping the cassette as it may get stretched otherwise. Do this by raising it into the tilt position and removing the 3 Torx screws from each side of the lid.

Next, disconnect the motor wiring, undo the Torx screws securing the cassette to the roof, and lift it out.
The cassette will only fit in one way, once the screws are in, it is aligned. Run the motor through the tilt process and install the lid. Install screws until they are almost tight, close the roof, push the front edge of the lid down so that it is 1 mm below the surrounding roof, tighten the front screws. Raise the rear of the lid so that it is 1 mm above the surrounding roof and tighten the 4 remaining screws. It is easier to do it one corner at a time, rather than front and rear.
