Subject: Re: E36 glove-box removal..HELP!!

To remove the E36 glovebox:
2 screws in vents:
upper left corner of left vent,
upper right corner of right vent
2 screws on top ridge of glovebox opening, behind rubber covers 2 screws near glovebox door hinge
2 screws underneath the glovebox

Sounds like you missed the ones in the vents.

I'm not sure from your message if you are expecting to find the DME behind the glovebox. It's not. You access it from the engine compartment, passenger side, in the firewall. The big black rubber/plastic thing on the firewall is the cover over the DME. Check the E36 page for more details, or drop me a line

It's 4am and I just got done putting an M5 Pioneer-4 headunit and the cd-changer out of an E36 325i in my '88 325is with premium sound option. Sounds great! Look for a writeup on my E30 page sometime this week. Thanks Steve for the headunit, and thanks Pete for the changer. Both items purchased via email, delivered COD by UPS.
