Subject: [E36M3] Trailer/Hitch for the M3
Date: Mon, 30 Aug 1999 17:46:21 -0400
Yesterday, I went to an autocross in my M3 and won my class (I was the only
car in F class) and got the FTD by .05 of a second over a 911 but I decided
that it is really a hassle to load everything up in the car. I was told by a
few people that I could fit 3 tires stacked up in the trunk but they didn't
fit (it wasn't even that close). I have BFGoodrich gForce R1's in 235/40/17
and they missed by about 1". I put 2 in the trunk and 2 in the back seat
(wrapped in plastic bags and over towels). It is just a royal PITA and it
just happens that today someone posted to the NSX list about a trailer
company in Florida: http://www.southsporttrailers.com/track.html. The cost
is $795 with about $200 shipping to NJ. They can also get the hitch for the
M3 and offered it for $190 if I buy a trailer from them. The hitch can be
found at: http://www.hitch-web.com/vghitch.asp?Veh_Type=Car&VehNo=13491 .
Does anyone have any experience with either of these?

'99 M3/2 who needs that little extra oomph from Jim C's intake to keep up
with those twin-turbo Supras on the track.
