Subject: [e36] E36 Fog lights
Hi guys!
Just read your e-mail on the Digest... The place with the best price for
E36 fog lights is:
The Best Source (Formerly the Ultimate Source)
389 Fort Salonga Road
Nothrport, NY 11768
(800) 537-8248 -- Ask for Rich
e-mail: info_at_the-best-source.com
The fogs only cost $49.00 US! A terrific price (free would be better,
but people gotta eat!). I purchased and received two just a few days
ago, plus a Microfilter for $26.00 US... The dealer wants $80, $100 if
they do it for you...
Changing the fogs is REALLY easy:
- You just need a long, skinny flat-tip screwdriver to poke at the
release mechanism, which is located on the inner side (grille side) of
the fog light. There should be two slots (use the upper one) where you
can insert the screwdriver (the blade tip should be perpendicular to the
ground).
- One firm push on the screwdriver should release the foglight, which
pivots on the outer edge. Then pull out the foglight.
- One twist of the electrical connector releases it from the foglight
housing.
- Unclip the halogen bulb (don't touch the bulb surface! If you do,
clean with alcohol, and wipe dry with a tissue) and reuse it in the new
foglight housing.
- Reattach the electrical connector.
- Reinstall the foglight, inserting the pivot end in first, then firmly
push the foglight into place. A click (maybe even a "snap", but don't
worry) should be heard, which means it has locked into place. Now change
the other one!
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
