Subject: <Paintless Dent Removal>
Here's my vote for paintless dent removal. I was first exposed to this
technique when I was asking my mechanic which body shop to use to have some
door dings "pulled, filled, and repainted". By coincidence, the Dent
Master, was plying his craft on a 750iL in the shop. I was invited to
watch the procedure and simply was blown away by what I witnessed. Huge,
ugly door dents disappeared without a trace. It was one of those
experiences when all you can say is things like "wow, that's amazing", or
"If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it
possible!" The procedure involves using special tools to essentially push
the metal back into shape from behind the dent. Not everyone has equal
skill in using the tools. So find out who's good and go by reputation.
Needless to say, watching made me a believer, and since that time about six
years ago, I have had the Dent Master remove several dents from my cars.
The cost will depend on the location and severity of the dents. Some dents
are hard to reach because of interference with the window mechanical inside
the doors, but so far, all of mine have been accessible. But on average, I
pay around $60 or so to get both sides de-door-dinged. I meet my guy at
various dealer locations, because he's fixing all of their cars, too. The
Dent Master is the best in Georgia, and he would probably win a national
"dent-off" if there were such a thing.
So by all means, give paintless dent removal a try. You'll be amazed with
the results.
