Subject: Re: <E36> Airbox Heatshield

During recent discussions about airbox heatshields, Milos Klacko asked for the Euro M3 airbox heatshield part number. It is p/n 5148 2 253 266. Thomas Skaria is correct about how the piece screws onto the side of the Euro airbox. It is just a piece of aluminum, bolted to the side of the airbox, but it runs down the length of intake pipe that comes from the brake duct. I had noticed this shield on the Euro M3's, but when I asked the tuners doing Euro airbox kits for U.S M3's, they didn't know what I was talking about. Apparently their kits don't include this piece. The part isn't expensive, only 24 pounds here in the U.K. (about $40). It is probably cheaper in Germany...I'll find out next week:))
