Subject: E36 100W High Beams-Caution!!!

It is not advised to use the 100W bulbs in the E36 3-Series for high beam use. We have seen that the headlight assembly has melted after prolong use. Since there is an outer plastic cover over the headlights there is no airflow to cool the assembly resulting in pieces melting. THIS HAS HAPPENED!!! Please keep this in mind before changing your high beams to 100W bulbs. The 80W bulbs have been working well in the low beams. It is recommended to use dielectric grease for any bulb upgrade to ensure good conductivity. Bob-1990 325is w/80W lows & 85W PIAA 1000's Fogs Midwest Performance HQ
