In response to a question about installing a short shift kit, I did so on my '95 M3. I bought one from Autothority. Aside from the fact that I had to drill out a bushing to make it fit properly, it works very well. I hadn't realized how nice it felt until I drove a stock M3. Its shift lever felt very loose and squishy.

I definitely recommend this upgrade. Autothority's kit is only $99.
