Subject: Gearbox mounts and camber bolts

Gruppe:

For those of you modifying your cars for track use, you can use gearbox mounts from a Bavaria to replace the soft OEM mounts used in all E36 M3s. The Bavaria mounts are a direct bolt-in. You just have to enlarge the bracket holes by 1 mm to accomodate the slightly larger studs on the Bavaria mounts. Word has it that the Korman gearbox mounts are really Bavaria mounts.

Also, I have been using Korman's front camber bolt kit for the track. It adds about 3/4 degree of negative camber. But be careful! You need to remove the bolts periodically to check for wear. After three schools, the threads on my bolts showed some wear. They're cheap ($20 from Korman; less from the Ultimate Garage), so it's worth replacing them a few times a year on a car that sees a lot of track time. Just before each track event, retorque them to 80 ft./lb.
