Subject: 95 M3 Problems

John:

I have the identical car, and it also HAD a problem shifting in/out of 3 and 4th gear. There is
a Service Bulletin on it. I corrected the problem by changing the oil in the Transmission to Redline MTL 75W/80W.

The manual for the 95 M3 calls for ATF, but the Redline MTL is an ATF substitute.

It shifts great after I made the switch, about 3 months ago. I'm sure it will remedy your problem as well.
