When I took off my Cool Willy's after Summit Point a couple of weeks ago, I was surprised to find that the leading edge of the brake pads were 'chunking' a bit. Will Turner told me its caused by too much heat and I need to cool the brakes, probably with ducting. I've already bent the backer plates in the maximum amount, so it looks like ducting will be the winter project.

Even as hot as they got, I did not notice any loss of brake pedal or increased stop distances, and the Euro 2-piece rotors did not warp. I doubt the stock rotors would have been up to the task.

I also noticed Steve D'G mentioned an instrument to check brake fluid temp capacity. We should be doing this at Driver's School's tech inspections. I've never seen one of these devices but it sure sounds like a good tool.
