I have had the same problem with Hawk blues, and that is one of the reasons that I guit using them. They are dirty, noisy, and don't work any better than the PF 90's that I now use. I think that the Performance Friction 90 pads are the ticket, and have not seen ANY downside to them. They work well cold (better warmed up, of course), they are clean(er), they are quiet(er), and easy on rotors. Mine have at least 1000 miles track time, and still have at least half thickness left. They are more expensive to purchase, but in the long run, they are cheap.
