Subject: Re: [E36M3] floating rotors

The Euro M3 floating rotors are a 2-piece design. The 'hat' of the rotor (the part which mounts over the hub) is made out of aluminum. The disc (the part that the pads contact) is made out of iron. The disc is mounted to the hat by radially mounted steel pins. This allows both sides of the disc to expand and contract evenly, helping to prevent warping.

If you're into painting your calipers, then you'll love the Euro rotors. The aluminum hub has ///M cast into it, perfect for painting :)
