Subject: <E34> Overheating

AND THE ANSWER IS: WATER PUMP

The pump impeller had sheared at the base, near where it ataches to the driving shaft. The thing that bothered me was the impeller was made of plastic and part of the impeller had broken off of the pump itself. My guess is that the inch square peice is lodged in the water jacket or the radiator.
The thermostat was changed too considering the number of cycles the thing has gone through after 131,xxx miles.
