When I sell a rack for an E30, I include new sealing washers for the line
connections, lockplates for the tie rod ends, and new boots with clamps.
Probably not a bad idea to replace the tie rods while you're at it if
they're the original ones. I'd recommend a ZF remanufactured rack as it
will have all the latest engineering changes. These are warrantied for 3
years and are rebuilt by the folks that made the rack new. Make sure you've
got a can of ATF to top of the PS reservoir. (Note, ZF offers an early and
late rack for all E30's except the M3....you'll have to get the M3 rack
through BMW. Don't buy off on the the parts house sales pitch that all E30
racks are the same) SD
