Hi,
BMW cd changers are either Pioneer or Alpine in manufacture. I think they use the Alpines in the 3-series and the Pioneers in the 5 and 7 series. Bring a magazine into someplace like Best Buy and compare it to the Pioneer ones. They run about 3/$30.

If the changer is the BMW changer and the access door drops down as opposed to sliding open, you have the Pioneer type which should have a little six disc logo not unlike a compacted Audi/Olympic symbol. The sliding door BMW units are made by Alpine. Seems like Crutchfield and Circuit City used to sell the Pioneer magazines in a 3-pack for not much more than $30.
