Michael,

Your left hand side illumination bulb has burned out. It's a $1 item from a dealer and about 30 minute replacement procedure that is fairly well described in the Bentley manual. There is also a pretty good write up on how to disassemble the center console in the OBC light replacement section of the FAQ. If you don't have access to either source, drop me a line and I'll try to write up the instructions.

P.S: While you are there, I would replace both bulbs (the other bulb illuminates the temp control).
