I sent this to you direct, but it bounced (EWalsh_at_abbygroup.com)

it should only turn 90 degrees to the right.. 45 for lock
90 for double lock

common problem is door lock cylinder has

  1. broken or loose spring
  2. broken or loose actuating arm
  3. bent actuating arm

it is not too hard to get inside the door to see what is happening (or not happening).. 10 mins tops

check my faq
ftp://ftp.doe.carleton.ca/pub/chrisp/bmw/central.lock.faq

unlocking, the door lock cylinder has straight mechanical connection to lock mechanism to lock rod to lock motor

locking, the force goes through a spring, to an arm, to the lock mechanism.

$30 for a new lock cylinder, including all tumblers to re-key it to your key
