I need some advice for an alarm system for my 95 M3. I prefer a factory
system since the warranty issue; however, it lacks a shock sensor. I am
tired of other cars bumping into my car while it's parked. Is this
something can be added to the factory system?

I added an Alpine 8321 shock sensor to my BMW/Alpine factory alarm. I
mounted it under the hood, on the horizontal piece of metal just behind the
positive terminal block used for jump starting. If you trace the wiring for
the factory hood "pin" switch, you will see that it runs directly under this
area, making it a snap to pull power from the positive terminal, ground
directly to the frame, and tap into the existing hood switch wiring all
within a 3 inch area. None of my friends with M3s (or my dealer for that
matter) have ever noticed that it is there, so I would say it is a clean and
stealthy install.
As for performance, it works very well. It never falses, and works as well
as the aftermarket alarms I have had in the past.
Happy ///Motoring,
