Subject: E 30 323i chip

Yuris, I had an 84 323i until this year. I loved the car but also wanted to get a little more out of it. I spoke with several companies and individuals (Electrodyne, AutoThority, Will Turner) all of whom said that the best thing to do was to build the engine since the engine electronics are very primitive and the functions which are normally controlled by a chip are not in the 323i. You might get a different answer from someone but I don't think so. Good luck.

BTW, The shop foreman at Exclusive Service in Rockville Md. is Mike Thorpe. I don't think he is on the digest but if you give him a call he also has an E-30 323i. He has rebuilt the motor got a significant gain. His work Phone # is (301) 231-5400. Once again Good Luck.
