Subject: <E28> 535i - upgrading the intake system

Fellow enthusiast,

yesterday, I asked about possible intake upgrades for the E28 535i (= Motronic cars).

One list member informed me (thank you, James !) that the intake system from the L-Jetronic cars (= E12) already SEEMS to be larger (anyone knows for sure ??) BUT the throttle body of the L-Jetronic cars IS considerably larger.

QUESTION:
Does this mean that E28 owners can adapt the throttle bodies from the E12/E24 L-Jetronic cars ?
(This could make a very cheap BIG BORE throttle body for the E28 535i !)

All thoughts on this question are welcome.
