Subject: <misc> Origin of my Euro 2002tii Lux

Per the suggestion of a fellow digester, I wrote BMW AG requesting information on the origin of my car. Today I received an unexpected package from:

Elke Giehl
BMW Mobile Tradition
Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft Historisches Archiv und Dokumentation
D-80788 Munchen, Germany

The package contained:

  • - Letter stating that my car was delivered to the dealer in Freese, Oldenburg on August 1, 1974 and its color was Fjord-Metallic (and still is)
  • - Copy of the orginal European Sales Brouchure - English Edition
  • - Copy of the relevent 2002tii pages from the European Owners Manual - English Edition
  • - Two original black and white photographs (passenger side view and rear view) of a pre-73 (round tail light) 2002tii with German description printed on the back describing the car.

To say the least, I was very impressed with the contents and turnaround time (approx 3 weeks). I did not receive any information on installed options, though the available options are described in the sales brouchure.

Mike - 1973 Euro 2002tii Lux
