Subject: Auto-loc alarm for E34 525i - JUNK!
Dear Digest,
I ordered an Auto-loc alarm ($240) for my '92 525i and hooked it up
today. It didn't work! Thank God from past experiences I learned to
just hook up the alarm first and try it out before actually mounting the
components in their places. Although it was a plug-in to my existing
alarm wiring, I was not able to use the existing OBC horn. The piece of
junk wouldn't even lock the doors! I'm sending it back today. By the
way, the instructions sucked, too! Everything in the package looked
cheap! Probably some company working out of their garage! Oh well, I
guess I'll get the factory alarm ($500.00 un-installed) knowing I'll
finally be getting quality parts!
Growing wiser.
