Subject: Re: 733i Driveline

Thanks to everybody who replied to my request for sources for rebuilt driveshafts. Virtually everybody recommended the same one - Driveline Services of Oregon, in Portland Oregon.

Just as an FYI, I called them and they sell a rebuilt unit for $375. It has replacable U-Joints and a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty. This definitely sounds like the way to go if you are keeping your car for awhile. However, I also found that Mesa Performance has a rebuilt shaft for $295. It doesn't have replacable U-Joints and only has a 1 year warranty. This is a tough choice for me since I really only plan on keeping the car for another year or so. I'm sure that the shaft with the replacable U-Joints is the best long term solution, but it seems kind of hard to justify the extra $80 for my use.

Anyway, thanks again for all of the responses.
