A few weeks ago, a 4x4 post jumped out in front of me in the rode. I swerved, but I think it jumped again and caught the inside of my front left wheel. Darn. I took a look at the wheel but didn't see any noticable damage, except for a new, annoying shimmy. I took it to one of those quick tire change places and had them throw it on their balancing machine. That wheel shook like a wet Labrador. I found a shop in West Hollywood that seemed reasonable (had no recommendation). The shop was pretty seedy, but after driving an hour and 45 minutes in traffic, there was no way I was taking that bent wheel home. A few days later, I picked up my wheel and left behind $150. Pretty good deal considering the price of a new wheel. It looked great, and I haven't had a problem whatsoever with it. I'm sure there are many good shops around the country for wheel repair, but if you're in the LA area, I'd recommend Tru Wheel. Their phone # is 1-800-FIX-A-RIM. You can take a look at their web page too for some samples.

Good luck.

I have used the Guys at 800-341-1501 in Grand Praire TX. $95 + UPS return shipping and a 48 hour turn around. Less $ and faster service than the competition. The wheels (I sent 2) came back looking good as new and they guarantee their work.

If anyone in the San Diego area has a great, economical, ethical shop for maintenance work I would appreciate a referral.
