Subject: 1999 E46 M3: No 4.4 V8!

Digesters;

Got back from the NJ BMWCCA meeting on Friday held at no other than BMW NA in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. 2 new BMW motorcycles in the showroom (a cruiser and a big, sport bike).

Other info. The McLaren F1 is certified for the US streets for those that didn't know. A 60 year-old oil barron from Texas owns the first one. Erik Wensburg anticipates that 12-15 will be sold this year in the US.

I did ask them about the rumored 4.4L V8 in the E46 M3...no way! However, he did mention that there may be 4-5 M-cars available in the future. We already know of some...M-Roadster, new M5, new M3, but what others? An M ti? An M6? Those who know either work at BMW Planning or are dead (from knowing the advanced information).

There were probably 15 M-3's in the lot (club members). A fun site.

Ben

BTW, I've posted the M3 wheel weights on my BMW page.... http://members.aol.com/benliaw
