Andy,
With so many new cars coming from BMW, they were reluctant to discuss an E46 M3 back in July other than saying it will eventually happen. It's currently under development and rumor has it that the E46 M3 will have an SMG transmission with paddle buttons on the steering wheel a' la Ferrari. Maybe someone can bend Eric Wenberg's ear at Gateway Tech in March '98 for more info. Bet they will have a schedule for it by then.
I predict the absolutely hottest track BMW we will see anytime soon is gonna be the Z3 COUPE with the M option. When that baby comes rollinn' outta Spartanburg, move over E36 M3. All the power, less fat, and no flexi-shake like the Roadster. It will be blurring by so fast you won't have time to debate if its ugly.
I'm gonna set my sights on an E39 M5. I'm startin' to get that Geezin' feelin' that 400 hp + 4 Doors surely would fix. But I sure do hope they can leave all the 'lectric luxury gizmos off of it.
