Ahhh, a message from the uneducated............... :-)

After toiling with dozens (hundreds?) of these things, you soon learn. From under the car, break the torque on the drain bolt. Then get on top of the car, reach in , and in all models, even the M3, you can just get two fingers onto the bolt, remove it and , if you're unlucky, you'll get some coolant on your shoe.
It ain't skill, it's experience.........................
