i changed the slave cyl. on my '87 325e and after bleeding, the pedal won't come up by itself. when i push on the clutch pedal with the slave cyl. disconnected not much fluid comes out of the hose. is this Normal? can the master cylinder be bad or is this not related, braking is fine. can bad clutch parts prevent this pedal from coming up?
i changed a slave cyl. on a 325i before and i had no problem. |

the spring pressure from the pressure plate starts the clutch pedal back up. If you hold the pedal down, bleed the fluid/air out, there is no spring pressure to return the pedal. Pull it up by hand. pump a couple dozen times, bleed again. pull up pump a bunch more. Bleed again, pull up. pump a bunch. You should have all the air/old fluid out by now. Make sure you check the brake master cylinder level between bleedings to keep air out of the clutch master. |
