My 88 325i SE windscreen has to be replaced due to a crack. The tint in my windows looks green to me but the replacement screen which I've been shown looks blue. The supplier, a glass specialist (not a BMW Dealer) says it must be the same as there is only one colour of tint used in the E30. I have to deal with them as it's an insurance repair and the company only deals with this glass specialist. Also, the new screen has a dark band across the top whereas the original doesn't. Anyone got an E30 with an original screen that has a band across?
TIA.
Paul

Paul,
You are right, there is a blue and a green tint available for the E30s. I live in Australia and have found both available here. The VIN number of the car and an authorised BMW parts dealer is the way to ensure you get the correct glass.
Cheers. |
