|
|
I bought a '94 318i for my son. After a month of ownership a transmission issue occurred. He was sitting at a traffic light. When the light turned green he attempted to put the car in first and drive away. The gear shift moved into 1st normally. The clutch felt normal, but when he gave it gas the egine revved as if it were in neutral and the car did not move. My son said he hadn't noticed any slipping prior to the issue. Any ideas? Clutch failure? Fluid level? |

About a week prior my son noticed a puddle under the car that he described as oil. The car had only been parked a short whiel at an event he was attending. I had him check the oil level but it was fine. We assumed it was from a vehicle that had parked there previously. No other leaks had been noted at any other time. There's no evidence of leaking on the undercarriage. Clutch pedal feels normal with normal amount of resistance. The car can not be shifted into any gear without depressing the clutch. One new development is that the car will now move in 1st and reverse but it only creeps very slowly while engine is revved. |
