Hi all,
2000 E39.
Diplay showed a faulty Right taillight. Found the Backup (reverse) light was blown. Easy enough - replaced bulb;all is good, but the display is still telling me I have a faulty taillight.
Is there a reset for this, or should it just go away on it's own?
Thanks,

Make sure the bulb has a silver-colored base, and it, and the socket, are clean, with no corosion.
Also, the bulb may be ready to blow. The light control module is sensitive to these two things. Replace the bulb to see if the message goes away. _________________

Swapped the bulbs between the right and left side.
The message stayed on the Right side.
Funny, while I had the bulbs out on the Left side, it didn't register any faults on the Left. Hmmmm.
Any other way to check the LKM without removing and doing surgery on it? _________________ 1989 325ic 190,000 miles and counting |

You'll need a factory tool to access the LKM. _________________
