BMW 1997 328i has the alpine c33 in it. Is there a plug and play radio that will fit it? need to replace? Also do Ineed to disconnect the battery in order to take it out. Or will a fuse removal do the trick? |

Crutchfield should have a couple of units from which to choose. _________________

I put a used C43 in mine. Absolutely plug-n-play, better unit. _________________ Arne

As Ed posted Crutchfield has several options. I believe they will even throw in the antenna adapter and multipin connector for the price of the head unit.
Be aware that you will lose the FM antenna diversity which you now have with your OEM head.
There was a long string on this very subject at the end of last year:
http://www.unofficialbmw.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=33033&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=stereo&start=0
In the string I suggested a slight departure from the suggested connections using the multi-pin adapter. In the string I link a schematic of the input to the BMW amplifer and I give an explanation and justification of my suggested changes.
