My ECU in my 92 325i is acting up. The car stumbles on acceleration from a stop until the rms get high enough. No codes are given, I have had a shop do a diagnostic and all sensors are good, they believe the ECU is bad.
My question is about ECU interchange from a different car. What is the effect of taking an ECu from another car same year but different part #. Mine is a 403 and other I can find are 402's or 405's. Mine was an early production date.
Also does automatic or manual make difference since there is a separte computer for the trans. |

This sounds similar to what's happening to me.
However, doesn't a bad ecu come up as a fault?
Some members offered suggestions so check out my earlier post.
Also, my cars going in tomorrow. I'll share what is found with you. |
