Had a new heater blower motor put in in Nov 2008. Ever since then and right from the start you could hear it vibrate a bit on high. Air came out fairly well but with time it seemed not to work that well. Then today I put it on the blower cage and what not made a big noise and now it no longer works at all. Its shot. I am bringing it in again on mOnday and it may be covered. I doubt a mouse caused it as before back then it kept working for 9 years. Since new blower was put in I never saw nest stuff come out or smelled anything. I really believe it was never put in properly. Guess we'll see and just in case can it be done by myself in case BMW decides to rip me off!!

The shop should have fixed the vibration problem when they installed the new motor but that may not be your present problem. The final stage has been buggy on late e36s and e46s. It is the solid state amplifier which drives the blower motor. It is controlled by the digital HVAC control. The control itself is problematic and was the subject of one of the longest strings on this forum.

thanks. Went to BMW today it was the blower motor which is under warranty. I agree with the other. I always notice a thud sound at times as if something is not working right when Auto is on. Its odd but you tell BMW they know nothing. Its like its trying to switch air circulation but its not working.Been like that for years. |
