Hey guys, I got a 1989 535i a few years ago with 150,000 miles on it. I have replaced the whole exhaust and done some other smaller repairs. The car looks good and runs good. I would like to replace the fuel line and vent line. They are corroded and I am worried that they will fail soon. I purchased the lines, after I got a really high price from a mechanic to do the work. Have any of you ever done this job? There are actually 3 lines that run from the gas tank all the way up to the front of the car. I would replace all 3 since they are all corroded and they all are in the same clamp. I can not afford to have some one else do the work. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

You'll need to get the car up on jack stands. Then examine how the lines are installed. If you are experienced in wrenching on cars, the job should not be terribly difficult.

Do you have the Bentley's manual for your car?

yes I do have the Bentley manual. I have used it for all the projects I've done so far. The manual dosen't seem to cover this particular problem.
