Recently picked up a 95' Dakar Yellow. Upon further inspection it seems there is a power steering leak, and subsequent "screech" when wheels are fully turned either direction. I'm getting it inspected on Wed, just wondering how difficult it would be to change the lines that are leaking and/or the power steering pump by yourself. I'd rather not have a shop do it, as it will certainly be a good penny. Any help is appreciated. |

Not terribly difficult to replace PS lines or pump. Routing may be a problem, depending on what's in the way.
Most important is to be scrupulously clean. ANY dirt in the pump will destroy it.
You are lucky. Bentley's E36 service manual covers the M3: http://www.bentleypublishers.com/product.htm?code=b398 _________________

Thanks. Is there any issues with air in the lines once you change them out? Anything other tips about this would be appreciated. |
