Where can I get these?
Would they be available through the stealer?
I currently have the US ellipsoid and will be installing euro ellips. _________________ Lachssilber Metallic 203 1988 325i sedan with 200,xxx miles

So the euro's may just plug in without any additional plugs or wires?
That would be very nice. _________________ Lachssilber Metallic 203 1988 325i sedan with 200,xxx miles

Well got the headlights, and they do NOT simply plug right in.
The plug is a 2 prong plug, but the prongs are cylinder shaped as opposed to flat shaped, as my old headlights are.
Anyone know where I can buy an adaptor wire (preferable) or a wire with the correct harness, that i could adapt (non-preferable)?
I really do not wish to cut the plugs off both sides in order to do this. I will if I absolutely have to, but want to explore all other possibilities before coming to that conclusion.

Turner Motorsport sells them, may be expensive.

OK
Turner doesn't sell just the wire harness by itself but gave me a part number for that:
63 12 8 357 401
it appears in bavauto as some kind of cover cap with no picture.
Anyone have access to part numbers and what exactly this part number is for? _________________ Lachssilber Metallic 203 1988 325i sedan with 200,xxx miles

Since your car is an '88, I'm guessing you have the ellipsoidal headlights, and the bulbs are 5006/5001?
The car's connector is an oval plastic piece to go into the back of these bulbs.
All the Euro lights taking H4/H1 bulbs will have a USA standard 3 prong connector for the H4 on low beam, 2 prong connector for the H1 on high beam.
Go to a salvage yard for BMWs, and cut off those 4 connectors from an 84-87 E30, or 90-91, and splice them into your wiring.
Super easy, low beam is 3 wires, low beam, high beam, ground
high beam is just high beam 12v and ground.
----
Oops, I think you mean this style Euro-Ellipsoidal lights.
What type of bulb do these take? Find a car sold in USA that takes the same bulbs and grab the connectors from that car at the salvage yard.

On the ellipsoids, the bulbs should be 9005/9006 _________________

Thanks Dale.
That link depicts exactly what I have.
I'll try the junk yards. Also will check with the stealer. They should sell, the wires as well.
A little disappointed though, as I thought I was receiving some headlights with replaceable bulbs. The euro sealed beams will undoubtedly provide improved lighting, but not being able to replace the bulbs is definitely a downer.
Before I go any further with this, are there any euro plug and play ellipsoids available for the 88 with replaceable bulbs? _________________ Lachssilber Metallic 203 1988 325i sedan with 200,xxx miles

Those lights should definitely have replaceable bulbs! Euro lights have all had replaceable bulbs since the 70s, are you sure these don't?
Would you post a picture of the back of the new light assembly?
If you have trouble posting pics, email it to me and I'll put it up.

M78 - have you found the parts needed for the conversion?
I've got an '88 325iC also, and I want to use the euro ellipsoids as well. My lenses are cracked and a bulb is blown, so now would be a great time I just want to make sure that this job is do-able.
Thanks,
Dane

Dale,
It appears that they are sealed, or perhaps glued together on the back of the lights.

I checked the realoem database for euro-spec E30, and it appears that the bulbs are replaceable. I think you have to heat the area with the glue, then twist the bulb out?
