So I bought a 318i to replace Otis. The body is in better shape, but there are things to work on, but overall it is in decent shape. Several summer projects are in order I'm sure.

The color if much better than in the first pictures with the seller. I guess your white balance was way off then because it looked too orange (and not a nice orange either).

Perfect car to get around in. Bring the maintenance up to date, convert the a/c, and you have a great transportation car that should get at least 30 mpg on the freeway. _________________ Cirrusblau '88 325iC 5-speed

Probably paid a bit too much for it, paid $1100, put another about $900 into it to get it road worthy... Has about 174,000 miles.
The first pictures were with my cell phone, and I didn't have the white balance set.
It was FILTHY...
Fixed many issues, changed all the fluids, changed fuel pump when it failed in NY (long service call)
Still need to get the right rear door open. Looks like a PITA. It also runs rough when cold. _________________

BTW, how many miles on your Volvo 850? I need a wagon or SUV for a "dog car" to haul around my two big Labs this summer. There are lots of cheap 850 wagons around Boston, and they have a pretty good rep for reliability. What do you think of them? _________________ Cirrusblau '88 325iC 5-speed

Great daily driver! It will be nice once you get the issues sorted out. _________________ -Nick

Volvo 850 has 195,000 miles. It is a decent car. Wish I had a 5 speed and maybe the turbo version. PO didn't change the timing belt, first thing I did. Paid $1,000 for it and put maybe another $1,000 into it to get it so it was where I wanted it. It was supposed to be a BMW wagon, but the guy I was supposed to buy that from backed out at the last minute, so I ended up with the Volvo.
Someday maybe I'll have a E30 touring with a 5 speed _________________

Cool. I see a few wagon 850Rs and V70 T5s (the high pressure turbo versions of the 850) for sale very reasonably (like under $4k). Almost all are automatics, but with 253HP, I could live with it. Volvos always seem to have great longevity if cared for. _________________ Cirrusblau '88 325iC 5-speed
