Remember the previous post (315 who read it do): "No Pretext...What are you paying?"

A friend e-mailed me a forward which I'm passing on.

That is... Don't Buy Gas on May 15th."

Fuel up the day before, 2 days before, the day after...but stay away from gas stations on May 15th. Unless, of course you enjoy spending in excess of $3.39.9 for a gallon premium fuel.

Just don't buy gas on May 15th. It's called voting with your feet.

Let's do a little Economics 101 analysis.

1) Given your assumption that the price of the gas is going up, denying yourself timely purchase gives rise to the risk of paying more. In other words, you could actually hurt yourself by delaying your purchase.

2) At the same time, the seller is given the benefit of charging you more, producing the opposite result of what you want to achieve.

I fill up my tanks as quickly as I can because tomorrow the price may go up.

Theoretically, the better alternative is to drive less and walk more. That is what I call "vote with your feet," and not by skipping one day in buying gas. Obviously, that can not be practical for everyone.

And if you have extra money, invest in energy stocks and share in the their rising values. Increase in energy demand is a global situation. To fight increasing global demand is futile to say the least. Think positive and be wise!
