Anybody know what the problem might be? Engine light turns on only when the weather is really cold and the heater takes forever to heat up the car. Also, temp. gauge never gets out of the blue. Thanks for your input. |

All of those symptoms point to a thermostat that's stuck in the open position. Replace it with a new one. You can, and should, have the fault codes read out of the OBD. I'm sure there'll be a fault code relating to the cold running engine, but there could be others as well. Fix the thermostat problem, reset the faults, and see how it behaves. _________________ NASA and BMW Certified instructor
