I have used the Microsoft animator a bit, I won't say I'm very good but I made this:
But it was a bigger file than I expected. Is there a way to create a background, which doesn't have to be redrawn in each successive frame? What I'd like to do is take a map and plot out the course we took on it on a recent trip, ala Raiders of the Lost Ark. Map in the background, nice solid red line gets drawn over it...
Any suggestions?

I use Jasc Paintshop Pro v7 and it comes with a terrific Animated GIF program. I think the new version (v8) comes with an even better one.
You can even install small 'pics' between slides and give a small sublminal message to your gif.

Like the one in your sig saying "buy an M3!" haha. Thanks JRS, I'll look into that. I've also been saving some people's avatars and whatnot, trying to reverse-engineer them. |

Jasc will let you do that... with ease.
